Hi everyone! Summertime is around the corner so a summer wreath is in order :) The wreath I had was a beachy sort of wreath to me so that's what I'll be making. My mother-in-law, Kim, and I repurposed these wreaths from my wedding. Kim's house is beach themed so we took some shells and sand dollars from her decorations. At Hobby Lobby we got everything 50% off except the big sand dollar which we used a 40% off coupon on. At Michael's we also used a coupon :) gotta love coupons.

Supply List:

Hobby Lobby: Wreath, burlap, shells (there are many bagged options), big sand dollar, small white sand dollars, welcome sign (currently I can't find it on the website), starfish.

Michaels: big star fish (pack of 3; 4 color options; currently I can't find it on the website), shells (again, there are many bagged options).

Also Needed: Hot glue gun, paint & brush (if you'd like), ties/pipe cleaners (if you'd like)

Here's our beginning, the wreath.

We found this sign at Hobby Lobby and really liked it as a decor to go in the opening of the wreath.

These are some of the decoration supplies we bought. We were saved from buying shells thanks to Kim's stash. We looked for anchors, sea turtles, etc but were unsuccessful.

We toyed with the burlap, trying to decide between looping it through full circle or just a little bit...

We tinkered with the different decorations (indecisive is my middle name, below are 2 ideas I had).

I started out with so many things on my wreath and ended up making it more simple.

I hot glued everything. The sign had a rope that I glued and tied with a pipe cleaner to the back of the wreath. And I painted the wheel to make it stand out.

My Final Product:

This wreath and all the decor are very versatile. Here's another example.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY summer wreath project. It was a great bonding time for Kim & me :) Good luck with your own wreath! ♥
