The Perfect Rustic Wedding

I really love the rustic vintage theme. I knew I wanted wood, burlap, lace, and dark teal in my colors and decoration. We added pearls, wine corks, chalkboard, ivory, and lights. Cody was in black and ivory and his guys wore black and dark teal. I wore ivory and my girls wore dark teal.

Cody and I got married at a versatile venue so we could be married outside and eat inside. Luckily the weather was absolutely perfect! The outside was more beach-y than rustic but we made do. Cody's aunt (with the family's help) made all of this possible and his uncle cut up wood pieces so we didn't have to buy any :)

We wanted to leave through a tunnel of sparklers. We made use of a bunch of chalkboard items.

We put up white linen and hung signs that said "He stole her heart" "So she took his last name".

Small pieces of wood were cut and then a slit was cut into them to hold table numbers and guest names.

We all looked out for little decor ideas along the way to stage on the tables. We used frame holders and picture frames throughout. And elevated other items by adding a block covered in fabric to add dimension and layers (shown later on).

The XOXO pictures hold our engagement photos and I had the sign made on etsy. Click here to get yours. (This post contains affiliate links to help you and me.)

We put guest gifts in a burlap and lace bag and put them in a vintage chest.

We covered tables in lace or ivory fabric. We added rustic and vintage pieces.

Burlap flowers were added to the cake to give it a rustic look and the cake was placed on a wood round.

Table decor included mason jars, votives, string lights, candles, and chalkboard painted wine bottles. Ribbon of burlap, lace, teal, and twine were added to the various items. The tables were covered in teal and overlaid with ivory and lace or burlap. We lucked out that the venue already had the mason jars wrapped in ribbon that we got to use but we still made the little votives.

Flowers were also laid down on the tables to add more dimension and greenery.

This chest was our advice box. The flowers are on a spool covered in fabric to elevate it.

My mom is awesome and made the chalkboard paint wine bottles. We, along with my mother-in-law, had a fun day decorating them. They each took a few afterwards and I got the rest to decorate our place with.

This was our cake topper. I found most of my items at Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Michaels, and the Dollar Tree. Coupons are always great. I think some other things were found at Kirklands, Ross/etc, and things lying around houses.

Cody's groom's cake was put in a vintage suitcase. His cake was Thor's hammer and his aunt had the idea to add Thor's picture and when the chest is opened, it played Thor's theme song. It was a fun and different addition.

We used a bird cage as a card box and added ribbon to it.

Each row had a pail of flowers. Cody's aunt and family did all the flower arranging. I picked the flowers but they worked the magic.

Our photographer AlyssaBeachPhotography took all of these photos and did an amazing job!

Chairs were covered in burlap and a bow was attached along with a wooden heart that we burned 'C+K' into. The flowers were added just for the shot.

The wedding occurred near sunset so we could enjoy the string light and lantern atmosphere.

Our first dance was under the string lights and fireworks. Picture perfect.

We also had a ring bearer pillow made of burlap and covered a small basket in burlap and ivory ribbon for the flower girl.

Both sides of our family had fun picking out these pieces and doing DIY projects. Everything came out perfectly and I had fun decorating our place with it all afterwards. Cody's aunt kept a few things to use for her other wedding planning events; we used a lot from her stock pile. I'm very thankful for all of her help and use of her stash.

It was a beautiful wedding. Everyone enjoyed the decor and the night.
