Recycle your unpainted pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns. Instead of throwing away a fall decorating favorite consider your alternatives.
1. Compost your pumpkins after you remove the seeds. Pumpkins are mostly made of water and break down quickly.
2. Have fun and create a bird feeder from your pumpkin. Place dried pumpkin seeds out in your yard where birds can easily feast.

3. If you have wildlife in your yard that you enjoy, cut the pumpkin into pieces for them to enjoy. Tip- Place the pumpkin away from your house, preferably near a tree.
4. Plant the seeds if you would like to grow your own pumpkins for the next year. The squash bee will thank you for it and we know how much we need to help pollinators these days.
